Reflection:I practiced using different types of charcoal to create realistic shapes and value to make them look 3D and have shadows. I struggled to get the weight and value of lines the way I wanted. I started with basic shapes and outlines of the major components and slowly added in line and value to make them look 3D, eventually adding shadows and switching from willow-bark charcoal to the pencil. I progressively made the shadows darker and more detailed. Finally I shaded in the background and added white highlights to the brightest part of the image. Next time I hope I can get my value/shading smoother.
